ABOUT

I grew up in Hingham Massachusetts. I am a child of the ocean. It is where my heart and soul are located. Life led me away from the sea and to a very rewarding long-term career as an occupational therapy practitioner, educator, and researcher. 'Doing', is the essence of occupational therapy. Doing is how humans bring meaning to their lives, For me it is what restores my soul. I have never been one to sit around, I always had a need to move, creating, and learning are what I live for.

Now retired, my creative mind flows, and the sky is the limit. I find myself learning and discovering every day. Through post retirement travel I have reconnected with my essence, and that is the ebb and flow of the tide, the tidal sands, the ocean and all it represents.

My husband Karl, and I have become avid supporters of my brother John in his efforts to restore an old wooden sailboat built over a century ago in 1913. Tradewinds is a 1913 30' Catboat he discovered sinking on the Intercoastal Waterway in South Carolina. It's a long story, but in this process, I have discovered art is the ultimate release of creativity. It is a way to lose myself in the beauty of nature. as treasures emerge. My brother John and sister Joanne supply me with the objects for my art. Their generosity supplements the supply I have managed to collect over time. My love of creating is coherent with my identity as an occupational therapy practitioner emphasizing the healing properties of 'doing'.

I hope you enjoy my work. All proceeds from the SHOP go to the Tradewinds restoration project. Thank you for your support.
